Time Savings & Simplified Billing with Ricoh's OCR Technology
When J. Donovan Law Group launched in 2019, they needed more than just a printer and copier. They were looking for a reliable solution that could streamline document management, enhance workflows, handle extensive scanning, and seamlessly integrate with their legal management software—all while keeping printing costs in check. With a monthly duty cycle of over 20,000 prints, J. Donovan Law Group required a device that could meet the demand for high-volume output.
The Solution
Katie Gillingham, Director of Technology at Office Interiors, collaborated with Jennifer Donovan to provide the team with the perfect solution: the Ricoh IMC4510. With a print speed of 45 pages per minute, this MFP solution enabled fast, high-volume printing and scanning for team members to share documents quickly. Its Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Technology helped organize electronic documents into a consolidated and fully searchable database, saving time and enhancing flexibility for the J. Donovan Group lawyers and their litigation support team.
Office Interiors’ automated toner replenishment also helped simplify fleet management, and comprehensive training sessions and ongoing support ensured smooth operations. With the Ricoh IMC4510, J. Donovan Law Group was able to consolidate printing, copying, scanning, and faxing into one efficient device, streamlining their workflow and maximizing productivity.
The Results
- Improved Document Management: OCR scanning streamlined organization and retrieval by converting physical documents into searchable digital formats.

Maximizing The Firm's Workspace Footprint
With their commitment to modern design, bold pieces from Haworth perfectly embody the firm's vision for lounge furniture that exudes luxury.
To help reduce the feeling of lost square footage, Rob MacGregor, Director of Business Development at Office Interiors recommended Haworth's Compose Workstations, which could accommodate between privacy needs and a free-visual horizon. This setup allows for easy configuration and reconfiguration to adapt to evolving business needs and a growing team, without the need to purchase new components for each change.
As a law firm, J. Donovan Law Group was all too familiar with traditional paper storage methods. However, the new design creates a ‘paper-reduced office’ by digitizing documents and providing personal storage for team members to store case files, work papers and personal items. At workstations, white X-series Mobile Pedestals blend seamlessly into the minimal aesthetic, while in private offices, Compose Overhead Storage helps elevate items off the floor and onto the walls, creating a more open and functional environment.
Two versatile meeting rooms facilitate connections between co-workers and clients. Featuring Haworth's Executive Wood Conference Table and Fern Executive Task Chairs, the larger boardroom at J. Donovan Law Group provides a highly functional, client-facing meeting space for up to 10 attendees. In the slightly smaller meeting area, Haworth's Planes Table with integrated outlets offers a plug-and-play approach for seamless technology integration during meetings.
The White Room
The focal point of the project was the boardroom, distinguished by its chic black and white palette. The room gained so much popularity that the J. Donovan Law Group team decided to replicate it in their Miramichi location. Enthusiastic about 'bling' and silver accents, they adorned the room with these accessories.
Affectionately dubbed 'The White Room', the boardroom's standout feature was the Fern task chairs, which quickly became favorites among the team.
"Katie was knowledgeable, prepared, and offered a customized package right away. She communicates clearly, explains her recommendations, and is always reachable when you need her. Brad is equally knowledgeable and patient — always quick to help. Overall, a superior experience. We're loyal clients and happily refer others to Office Interiors."
