Iron Maple is a full-service general contracting and construction firm headquartered in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, serving clients across Atlantic Canada. Established in 2020 by four industry veterans with over 100 years of combined construction experience, Iron Maple was built around a simple principle: make construction easier and more reliable for clients, subcontractors, and partners alike.

Iron Maple Construction had outgrown their previous office. With more team members and evolving workflows, they needed a workspace that supported focus, flexibility, and future growth. This was not just a bigger space, it was a smarter one.

Their new 10,300 square foot headquarters in Dartmouth was designed to reflect who they are as a company. Grounded. Efficient. Ready to move fast, but never at the expense of quality. We partnered with FBM Architecture to deliver commercial furniture and architectural elements that brought those values to life.

Function, Flow, and Flexibility

The layout is clear and intentional. Private offices line the perimeter of the main level, giving team leads a place to focus without losing connection to the rest of the floor. Each one is furnished with Upside Height Adjustable Desks, Fern Task Seating, and monitor arms, designed for comfort that lasts all day.

A HushFree Meet Booth sits at the edge of the open office - a quiet retreat for private calls or heads-down work, without needing permanent walls.

Designed for People, Not Just Productivity

Across two levels, 20 open workstations are defined using Intuity Benching and Compose Gallery Panels. This setup creates individual space without closing things off, helping the team stay connected and focused. Soji task chairs were incorporated to support a healthier, more human-centered place to work.

Glass fronts using Haworth’s 4Space system add a polished feel while letting daylight pass through enclosed offices and meeting rooms. The result is a space that feels open and calm, without sacrificing privacy where it matters.

Collaboration Happens Everywhere

Formal meetings take place in a large boardroom and enclosed meeting room, but connection doesn’t stop there. Across both floors, three open collaboration zones are equipped with Cultivate and Jive Tables for impromptu team sessions, client reviews, or quick brainstorms.

At the front of the office, Maari Guest Seating creates a welcoming reception area. Just beyond that, a cozy Riverbend Lounge gives the team a place to pause, catch up, or think out loud.

Throughout the space, modular storage from the BeHold and X-Series lines keeps clutter at bay and everything within reach.
