Making a Difference

Office Interiors, and specifically VP of Sales Shawn Lean out of the Fredericton N.B. branch, have been strong supporters in the community of local sports for many years. In early 2005 through 2008 they backed the Bantam AAA, Midget AAA Royals baseball teams, and the Midget AAA Canadians Hockey team. During a brief hiatus from local sports teams the group rallied around another great cause in support of the Hike for Hospice in 2009 through 2011. The Office interiors team was the top fundraising team for 3 years running, while also donating all proceeds from the BBQ run by the Office Interiors staff. The total donations to this worthy cause over the 3 year span was close to $15,000.00

In the fall of 2009 Shawn and Office Interiors were once again bitten by the sporting bug and began the sponsorship of a Junior hockey team in the NBJHL, winning provincial titles in the first 3 seasons. Through their efforts they are able to provide a competitive team for local athletes to play on, while still furthering their education. This past season Office Interiors branched out and also sponsored a men’s soccer team, the UNB women’s hockey team, girls U14 Volleyball team, a Commercial men’s hockey team, and a boys Bantam AA hockey team. To help offset the operating costs of these programs Shawn and his staff at Office Interiors host a major fundraising event each year that consists of a dance and silent auction. This one event has raised over $65,000.00 over the past 4 years. This event is organized and managed by the Office Interiors Jr. Caps hockey program and this past year they sold between 650 – 675 tickets. The total (profit revenue) from ticket sales, silent auction, 50/50 and coat check totaled north of $25,000.00! “We’re proud to say that 100% of this revenue goes directly back to the 6 (Office Interiors) teams in support of our local athletes & kids with most needs program.”

Office Interiors is known for their tag line “Love the way you work”. Shawn and his team have taken the phrase and used this heavily within their community, only changing it slightly to compliment the teams that play under their sponsorship, “Love the way you play.”
